 Creating opportunities for people to come together.

At Wood Lane Community Centre we aim to have activities, projects and services that will meet local community needs, create opportunities for people to come together and offer a warm and welcoming environment to all our user groups and individuals, whether its children and young people, adults or older people. Below shows some of our current community provision.

Setting up your own group?

We want to support volunteer enthusiasts who with a bit of support would like to share their passion with others and get others involved in activities such as knitting, crafting and embroidery. Do you have a leisure interest or skill you want to share with others, contact us and if we can find a time slot and available space we’ll help you set up a small group to do arts, crafts, knit, read, sculpt, wood work or other skills in a social environment.

Coffee Morning

Join our coffee morning for a cuppa and a chat between 9.30am – 10.30am,every Tuesday morning.

Holiday Playschemes

Fun sessions for children during school holidays on contact the community centre for more details on dates and times. Places need to be booked in advance. These staffed sessions offer the children and young people to take part in structured activities and enjoy time to play, meet friends and try activities including arts and crafts, sports and team activities. All sessions also include lunch.

Adult Digital Skills

Every Friday at 9.30am-11am we provide a free computer sessions for Adults to learn a new skill on how to use a computer, so come along if you are passionate about learning.

Women’s Badminton

Join our welcoming and supportive womens only badminton sessions, desinged for all skill levels- from begginners to more experienced players. The session provides a great opportunity to improve your skills, confidence and techniques and enjoy the game in a friendly environment. 

Slimming World

Thursdays from 5pm. Are you looking for support to reach your targets? Support, advice and be inspired.

Pickleball  

You are invited to join our Men’s Pickleball sessions, designed for players of all abilities who are looking to stay active and improve their game and enjoy a competitive yet friendly environment.

Adult Support Services

We offer a ESOL class for people that want to learn English as an additional language. It benefits your communication skills and is essential to have. 

 

 

 

Children’s Computer Classes

We have a Children’s computer class (6-12years) on Friday’s 3.30pm-4.30pm it is (£10 per session) where children get to explore computers so come along if interested. We are trailing sessions and laptops are provided.

Children’s Dance Classes

Our children’s dance class is a fun, energetic, and creative space where kids can explore movement, music, and self-expression in a supportive environment. Classes are typically designed to match different age groups and skill levels, helping children build confidence while learning the basics of dance.
